sampradāyarakṣaṇāt | sampradāyaṃ pālayatā hi tatsampradāyasāmarthyena duḥkhāntaṃ gamiṣyatāṃ bahūnāmapi duḥkhāntaḥ sampādito bhavati | tato'nantaphalapuṇyopacayaḥ | tato yogaprāptau prasādādduḥkhānta iti | tadevaṃ duḥkhāntanimittena śāstrasampradāyapālanārthaṃ brāhmaṇaviśeṣāṇāṃ samyaganugrahaḥ kartavyaḥ | asamyakkaraṇe tu sampradāyo viplāvita eva syāttato mahānarakapāta eveti | samyaganugrahakartṛtvaṃ punaḥ pañcārthaśāstroktārthaniścaye sati bhavati | sa ca śāstrārthaḥ pañcadhā navadhā vā jñātavyaḥ | tadapratipādane hi vidhāvapyanadhikāraḥ kutastasya yogamokṣāviti | tasmānmumukṣubhiḥ pañcakāstvaṣṭa vijñeyā gaṇaścaikastrikātmakaḥ | pañcapañcasaṅkhyā'vacchinnāḥ samudāyāḥ pañcakā lābhādayasteṣāṃ nyūnādhikavyavacchedena aṣṭa iti saṅkhyāmāha | tu śabdaḥ saṅkṣepavistāraparijñānayoḥ tulyaphalatvamavadhārayati śiṣyajijñāsā'nurodhena bhāṣyārambho'pyarthavāniti | vijñeyā viśeṣeṇa jñātavyāḥ punaḥ punarabhyāsena dṛḍhīkartavyā yena sarvadā śāstrārthe cittasthe kṛte sati granthavismaraṇe'pi brahmodyadoṣo na bhavet | anuṣṭhānāśaktasyānyathā hi surāpānasamaṃ pātakaṃ syāditi | gaṇaśabdaḥ samuccayavācī | ca śabdaḥ samuccayena kevalamaṣṭa pañcakā gaṇaśabdo dṛṣṭaḥ tadāśaṃkānirākaraṇārthamasyetyuktam | asya anantaroddiṣṭasya lābhādikasyetyarthaḥ | suparīkṣitaṃ brāhmaṇaṃ dīkṣāviśeṣeṇa pañcārthajñānaviśeṣeṇa ca śiṣyaṃ saṃskurvansaṃskarttā ityucyate | sa ca tajjñairmukhyata eva gururucyate | gururācāryaḥ śraddhāvatāmāśramiṇāṃ darśanasambhāṣaṇādibhirapi pāpaghnaḥ puṇyātiśayakārī cetyarthaḥ | athavā anyathā kārikāsambandhaḥ pradarśyate | sādhakasya sādhakatamāḥ śuddhivṛddhihetava upāyāḥ | athavā vāsaścaryājapadhyānasadāsmṛtiprasādabhedabhinnā upāyāḥ | ca śabdaḥ pādapūraṇa lābhādīnāṃ vā parasparāsaṅkīrṇalakṣaṇasūcaka iti | deśāścāvasthāśca viśuddhayaśceti dvandvaḥ | yadāśrayasāmarthyena sādhakaḥ śuddhivṛddhī prāpnoti te deśā gurujanaguhāsmaśānarudralakṣaṇā iti vakṣyāmaḥ | ālābhaprāpterekamaryādayā'vasthitayaḥ sādhakasya avasthāstā vyaktādiviśeṣeṇa viśiṣṭā vakṣyante | mithyājñānādīnāmatyantavyapohā viśuddhayaḥ | dīkṣākārīṇi ca balāni ceti dvandvaḥ | dīkṣānimittāni dīkṣākārīṇi dravyakālakriyāmūrtigurusañjñakāni sādhakātmagatānyupāyapravṛttinimittāni | balāni gurubhaktimatiprasādadvandvajayadharmāpramādalakṣaṇāni | aṣṭa pañcakā ityupasaṃhāraḥ | tisro vṛttaya iti prāpte trīṇi vṛttaya iti chāndasaḥ prayogaḥ kṛtaḥ pañcamalaghūkaraṇārtham | āgamāvirodhino'nnārjanopāyā vṛttayaḥ bhaikṣotsṛṣṭayathālabdhasaṃjñikāḥ | tatra prathamāvasthasya tāvadbhaikṣameva vṛttistasyāḥ ko vidhirityucyate | jñātvā bhikṣākālaṃ śucirbhūtvā bhasmanā hastau prakṣālya pātraṃ gṛhītvā udakaprakṣālitaṃ mantrasaṃskṛtaṃ ca kṛtvā mahādevaṃ praṇamyānujñāṃ prārthayettadanu gurūniti | tato devagurubhiranujñāto mantrānāvartayan īśvarāsaktacitto vā dṛṣṭipūtena pathā'bhiśastapatitagṛhāṇi varjayitvā yatra ca bhayanimittaṃ ca kākādi kaluṣanimittaṃ cāmedhyavivastrayuvativiṭadurjanavacanabhikṣukākīrṇatvādyupalabhyate tadgṛhāṇyapi prāyaścittanivedanapañcabrahmajapānusnānādikaṃ na karoti tṛtīyāvasthaḥ paramayogitvāditi | dvitīyāvasthasyotsṛṣṭameva vṛttiḥ | devādyuddeśena parityaktamannapānaṃ kāruṇyakautūhalābhyāṃ vā yadi kaścidaduṣṭajātirdadyādaśucitvādidoṣarahitaṃ tadutsṛṣṭam | tacca māyābhedenopayoktavyam | bhaikṣanivṛtteḥ pātraniyamo nāsti | caturthāvasthasya yathālabdhaṃ vṛttiḥ | smaśānadeśāvasthitenaiva divase divasadvaye traye vā yadannapānaṃ prāpyate tadyathālabdhamucyate | pañcamāvasthasya tu śarīrābhāvādeva vṛttyanupapattiriti || 2 || granthakramasya aprādhānyamarthajñānasyaiva prādhānyaṃ manyamāno'krameṇaiva nirdeśaṃ karoti gurubhaktiḥ ityādinā | athavā sarvārambhāṇāṃ lābhārthatvāttatprādhānyajñāpanārthaṃ pūrvamādau lābhā uddiṣṭā idānīṃ punaḥ sarve'pi lābhā upāyasādhyāste copāyā balahīnaiḥ puruṣairanuṣṭhātuṃ na śakyanta ityataḥ prādhānyajñāpanārthaṃ balānāmādau nirdeśamāha | gurubhaktiḥ prasādaśca materdvandvajayastathā | dharmaścaivāpramādaśca balaṃ pañcavidhaṃ smṛtam || 3 || guruḥ ācāryaḥ pañcārthajñānopadeṣṭā | tasya bhaktiḥ śraddhā sarvaduḥkhābhibhūtasya mamāyameva trātetyeṣā bhāvanā kāryā | tathā coktam | gururdevo guruḥ svāmī ityādi | p. 6) na ca kāraṇapravacanayorbhaktivirodhastadanumatyaiva tayorbhaktisambhavāt | yatastu tayorbhaktiḥ kartavyeti nānumanyate sa gurureva na bhavati ananugrahakāritvāt | sā ca gurubhaktistadanabhipretaṃ śāstrārthaṃ pratipadyata ityato grahaṇādyupetasya bhaktireva balam | bhāṣyavirodho'pi nāsti | yato balamaṣṭāṅgaṃ brahmacaryamityasyāyamarthaḥ | aṣṭānāṃ grahaṇādīnāmaṅgamaṣṭāṅgaṃ bhaktirevocyate vedāṅgavadarthāntarābhidhānāt | saiva brahmacaryanimittatvāt brahmacaryamityucyate | yadi punaryathāśrutārthaḥ syāttadā vāsovidhānamityādijñāpakābhidhānavirodhaḥ syāditi | vidhāvadhikṛtasya dvitīyaṃ balamāha | prasādaśca mateḥ iti | matiprasādaśabdenākaluṣatvamuktam | sati hi tasminmatiḥ prasannā bhavati | tathā ca balamakaluṣatvam iti bhāṣyam | atrāpi tarhi spaṣṭābhidhānaṃ kimarthaṃ na kṛtam (?) vidyākalāpaśusaṃjñitaṃ trividhaṃ kāryaṃ dravyamityucyate | tatra vidyā tāvacchiṣyagatā dīkṣāṅgaṃ yayā śiṣyo dīkṣā'dhikṛto bhavati | yayā tvācāryaḥ sampūrṇāṃ dīkṣāṃ nirvartayati sā''cāryagatā vidyā | kalā darbhādyā dīkṣāṅgam | uktaṃ hi - pūrvaṃ darbhāḥ punarbhasma candanaṃ sūtrameva | puṣpāṇi ca punardhūpaṃ mantrā eṣa kramaḥ smṛtaḥ || paśuḥ saṃskartavyo brāhmaṇaḥ | itthaṃ kaluṣanivṛttyarthameva trikaṃ kartavyam | bhāṣyasyāpi tathaiva śrutatvānnādṛṣṭārthamadṛṣṭaśuddheścāniścayāt trikānuparamaprasaṅgaḥ syāt tasmātkaluṣanivṛttau pūrvakṛtādharmakṣapaṇavadvyabhicārakṛtādharmakṣapaṇārthamapi vidhyācaraṇameva kartavyam | tathā ca sūtraṃ bhūyastapaścaret iti | manurapyāha - yat kiñcidenaḥ kurvanti vāṅmanomūrtibhirjanāḥ | tatsarvaṃ padārthabhedamanyathā varṇayanti | tattvaṃ guṇo bhāva iti | tatra yadanāśritaṃ tattatvam | tacca viṃśatibhedanam | pañca pṛthivyādīni trayodaśendriyāṇi paśuḥ kāraṇaṃ ceti | tattvavṛttayaḥ bhāvāśrayā guṇāstatra pṛthivyādiṣu yathāsambhavaṃ rūparasagandhasparśaśabdāḥ pañcaiva vartante | indriyatattvāni tu nirguṇāni | paśuṣu sapta guṇā vartante paśutvadharmādharmacittavidyāprayatnecchālakṣaṇāḥ | sukhādīnāṃ tu tadvikāratvāttadantarbhāva eva mṛdvikāravat | kāraṇe trayo guṇā kāmārthitvavipratvākhyā iti dharmibhyo'nyānanyatvenānirvacanīyāḥ | sattvaguṇānāṃ dharmā bhāvā ityucyante | tadvicāraśca prathamāvasthāyāṃ vidhimanuṣṭhāya yadā khalu prāptajñānaḥ prakṣīṇakaluṣaḥ kṛtābhyanujñaśca bhavati tadāvasthāntaraṃ gatvā raṅgavadavasthiteṣu janeṣu madhye naṭavadavasthito vivecya vivecya krāthanādīni kuryāt | tatrāsuptasyeva suptaliṅgapradarśanaṃ krāthanaṃ vāyvyabhibhūtasyeva śarīrāvayavānāṃ kampanaṃ spandanam upahatapādendriyasyeva gamanaṃ mandanam | rūpayauvanasampannāṃ striyamavalokayan kāmukamivātmānaṃ yairliṅgaiḥ pradarśayati tacchṛṅgāraṇaṃ kāryākāryavivekaśūnyasyeva lokaninditakaraṇamapitatkaraṇaṃ vyāhatāpārthakādi"ṣabdoccāraṇamapitadbhāṣaṇamiti | na caiṣāṃ kramo buddhyā svaṃ cittaṃ nirālambanaṃ karoti so'mūḍha ityucyate | tayā dhāraṇayā nirmalīkṛtaṃ cittaṃ rudratattve sthāpitaṃ sudīrghakālaṃ na cyavata ityanenaiva viśeṣeṇa pūrvadhyānāpekṣayedaṃ dhāraṇāsahitaṃ dhyānaṃ paramityuktaṃ śrīmadbhāṣyakṛtā paramayoginā | yadyapyeva dīkṣāprabhṛti cittaṃ nirmalīkartuṃ na śakyate tathāpi dhānuṣkacitrakarādivadabhyāsārthaṃ sarvāvasthāsu yathāśaktyā dhyānaṃ kartavyaṃ śāstrāntarebhyo'pi tarhi saṃśayādinivṛtteraviśeṣaprasaṅga iti cenna śāstrāntarapraṇetṝṇāmapi viparyayānivṛttipratipādanādācāryavaiśeṣyaprakaraṇe | tanna śāstrāntarebhyo'pi saṃśayādinivṛttiriti | mukhamālokayattadā || svajanā bāṃdhavā ye ca śyālāḥ saṃbandhinastadā | vidyārthinastu ye viprā ye cānye āśritā janāḥ || kṛtāñjaliḥ puro bhūtvā bālaṃ yatnena rakṣata | evaṃ samarpayanbālaṃ kurukṣetraṃ pratasthivān || iti śrīvāyupurāṇe śivaprasūtisargaḥ || ataḥparaṃ pravakṣyāmi kumāracaritaṃ param | yanna kasyacidākhyātaṃ tatsarvaṃ kathayāmi te || pativratā tu sā nārī putrayuktā dhanānvitā | bhartṛvākyānuvartantī yathoddiṣṭena karmaṇā || uṣaḥkāle tu samprāpte śucirbhūtvā tu sā priyā | saṃmārjya homaśālāyāṃ gomayenānulepayat || samidhaḥ śruvaṃ śrucaṃ caiva akṣatāṃśca tathā ghṛtam | tathā darbhānmahādevi ! kṛtvā ca dharaṇītale || abhyukṣaṇaṃ tataḥ kṛtvā gatā bāhye śubhānanā | homaṃ dadati te sarve bālāḥ sambandhinastathā || dine dine tu sā devi ! yathoddiṣṭaṃ cakāra ha | tathā cāśvayuje māsi samprāpte ca śubhānane ! || tato'nyasmindine devi ! pūrvāhṇe śubhakarmaṇā | āsādya tu sruvaṃ darbhān saghṛtaṃ tāmrabhājanam || abhyukṣaṇaṃ tataḥ kṛtvā gatā bāhye tu sundari ! | aṅke kṛtvā tapasvinī || panthānamīkṣate nārī udvignamanasā priye | sā pṛcchati pathi kṣīṇān rukṣakeśāṃśca dhūsarān || saputraiḥ sakalatraiśca bhrātṛbhiḥ svajanaistathā | dagdhā viyogaduḥkhena kṛṣṇadehā'bhavattadā || kāṃkṣamāṇā divārātrau snehāttu darśanaṃ pateḥ | cintayantī tadā devi ! nityamudvignacetasā || kurukṣetragatāndevi ! pathi kṣīṇān samāgatān | saṅghātavartino dṛṣṭvā duḥkhitā sā pativratā || aśrupūrṇā sunetrā ca citrāṅgī madhurasvarā | gṛhe prāptā tu sā devi ! kāṅkṣantī bharturāgamam || aparāhṇe mahābhāge ! āgato munisattamaḥ | snātvā cāsau kurukṣetre puṇyatīrthe śubhānane ! || āsanaṃ ca tadā devi ! tayā vistīrṇamādarāt | pādaśaucaṃ mahādevi ! kṛtaṃ viprasya yatnataḥ || dadhyakṣataṃ tathā dūrvā sitatoyaṃ suśobhanam | nikṣipya ca śubhe pātre tato'vardhāpayatpatim || dānaṃ supātre ca kṣemeṇāgato gṛham | brāhmaṇa uvāca - śṛṇu bhadre ! pravakṣyāmi gato tīrthe yathā priye ! | avighnena ca samprāptastava snehena sundari ! || durlabhaṃ priyamākhyeyaṃ durlabhaṃ jīvitaṃ dhanam | durlabhā tvādṛśī bhāryā durlabho guṇavānsutaḥ || durlabhā jananī loke pitā caiva viśeṣataḥ | durlabhaṃ sādhusanmānaṃ durlabhaṃ tīrthasevanam || smarāmi te divārātrau caritaṃ śobhanaṃ priye ! | na smarāmi viśālākṣi ! kadācittava vipriyam || bhāryā nāma nṛṇāṃ bhadre ! sarvakāmārthasādhinī || yaśaḥśriyaḥ kāmayuktā putradā kulavardhinī | bhāryāhīno viśālākṣi ! kuto bhadrāṇi paśyati (?) || kuśalaṃ tava bālasya kuśalaṃ tava sundari ! | kuśalaṃ dhanadhānye ca kuśalaṃ svajane jane || agnihotraṃ ca sātithyaṃ pādaśaucaṃ pratiśrayaḥ | aśeṣaṃ sarvamityetattvayā yatnena pālitam || sudarśanā uvāca - sātithyamagnihotraṃ ca pādaśaucaṃ pratiśrayaḥ | yathā sarvamanujñātaṃ tattathā sudṛḍhaṃ kṛtam || viśvarūpa uvāca - sādhu sādhu mahābhāge priye sarvāṅgasundari | pativrate viśālākṣi ratiputrapravardhini ! || vividhāni ca duḥkhāni anyajanmakṛtāni ca | tvaddarśanena naśyanti raviṃ dṛṣṭvā yathā himam || p. 43) sudarśanā uvāca - abhayaṃ dehi me kānta ! rahasyaṃ kathayāmi te | nirīkṣāmi sandhyāyāṃ virate ravau | yena me saṃśayo bhadre ! na kadācit pravartate || īśvara uvāca - ardharātre vyatīte tu dampatī śayanaṃ gatau | tataḥ prabhātasamaye homaṃ datvā yathāvidhi || madhyāhne vaiśvadevaṃ tu kṛtamātithyabhojanam | aparāhṇe tu samprāpte kṛtvā sammārjanaṃ priye ! || abhyukṣaṇaṃ tataḥ kṛtvā homadravyaṃ susaṃskṛtam | sandhyākāle tu samprāpte'gniruddhṛtya saṃskṛtaḥ || pādaśaucaṃ tataḥ kṛtvā śrotrabhālobhanaṃ tataḥ | agnau paryukṣaṇaṃ kṛtvā darbhānāstīrya yatnataḥ || sruvaṃ srucaṃ cābhiṣicya gavāṃ kṣīreṇa pārvati ! | prāṅmukhastu mahādevi ! oṅkāramuccarettataḥ || ekahastadvihastāya bahuhastāya te namaḥ | ekanetradvinetrāya bahunetrāya te namaḥ || namaste'stu mahādeva ! namaste'stu maheśvara ! | namaste'stu mahārudra ! namaste bālarūpiṇe ! || namaste'stu sutaḥ | havyasarvaprasādena yāsyāmo paramāṃ gatim || īśvara uvāca - tasya vākyāvasāne tu tato'haṃ rūpasaṃyutaḥ | tatkṣaṇācca parityajya bālo mārgeṇa prasthitaḥ || tataste pṛṣṭhataḥ sthitvā yathā suvipulena sā | dhāvamānā mahādevi ! bālamāyātimohitā || sa bālaḥ kṣaṇamātreṇa adṛśyo jāyate bhuvi | ūrvā nāmnā tu yā devī nadī nāmnā sarasvatī || bhṛgukṣetropakārāya triṣu lokeṣu viśrutā | nadītīre gato bālaḥ krīḍamānastu tiṣṭhati || tataḥ paścimamārgeṇa śrīmatkāyāvarohaṇam | viśvarūpo mahādevi ! dhāvamānaśca pṛṣṭhataḥ || p. 47) tasya mārge vartamāno bāndhavaiḥ svajanaiḥ saha | hā putra ! tvaṃ vatsa ! durlabhaṃ darśanaṃ tava | nivedaya tvamātmānaṃ mūrcchito dharaṇīṃ gataḥ || īśvara uvāca - udvignamanaso viprāḥ vepamānā muhurmuhuḥ | mātā sudarśanā devi ! praskhalantī pade pade || rudantī karuṇaṃ caiva snehād vai putravatsalā | krandamānā mahādevi ! duḥkhitā sutadarśanāt || hā putra ! putra ! putreti krośantī kurarī yathā | pāṇibhyāṃ prapadaṃ gatvā ehyehi mama putraka ! || p. 48) hṛdayaṃ śokadāvāgnidagdhaṃ ca kuladīpaka ! | kumāra uvāca - mā mā spṛśanti munayo mama mātā pitā tathā | asti kāryaṃ paraṃ kiñcit śruṇvantu munisattamāḥ ! || tyaja śokaṃ viśālākṣi ! na me mātā avatīrṇaḥ svayaṃ devi ! taṃ veda māṃ purātanam || ṛṣayaḥ ūcuḥ - tvaṃ devaḥ sarvadevānāṃ kartā hartā jagatpatiḥ | bhuktimuktipradātā tvaṃ bhogamokṣamabhīpsitam || kiṃ puṇyaṃ ke guṇāstasya yena devi ! praśaṃsati | ulkāgrāmasya māhātmyamaśeṣaṃ kathaya prabho ! || īśvara uvāca - śṛṇvantu ṛṣayaḥ sarve mama bhaktiparāyaṇaḥ | agnihotraratā nityaṃ vedādhyayanatatparāḥ || ulkāgrāmaṃ śivakṣetraṃ sapta manvantarāṇi ca | kāmikaṃ taṃ vijānīyurnātra kāryā vicāraṇā || snānaṃ kurvanti ye gatvā puṇye bhāgīrathījale | ulkāgrāme tu tatpuṇyaṃ sthāvarālokanena tu || tasmin tīrthe madīye tu sukṛtaṃ yena yatkṛtam | tasya varṣasahasraṃ tu pratijanma tadakṣayam || parityajati yaḥ prāṇānulkāgrāme mahāmatiḥ | divyaṃ varṣasahasraṃ tu sa rudrasya pade bhavet || anaśanena yaḥ kaścit prāṇatyāgaṃ karoti cet | anivartikā gatistasya rudraloke mahīyate || brāhmaṇān bhojayettatra tāpasānvā yatīṃstathā | sarvaṃ koṭiguṇaṃ tasya iti svāyaṃbhuvo'bravīt || p. 49) devakhāte ca yaḥ snātvā piṇḍān dadyādyathāvidhi | ahorātroṣito bhūtvā pitṝṇāṃ dattamakṣayam || caitramāse tathāṣṭamyāṃ ahorātroṣito naraḥ | devahradataṭe ramye brāhmaṇān bhojayettataḥ || suvarṇaṃ rajataṃ vastraṃ gāvo dhānyaṃ ca medinī | piṇḍaṃ surāḥ sarve sacandrāḥ sadivākarāḥ || anye ca ṛṣayaḥ sarve saśailavanakānanāḥ | gaṃgā sarasvatī tāpī yamunā caiva narmadā || mandākinī ca sarayūḥ tathā ca vedakā nadī | devahradasa sānnidhye nātra kāryā vicāraṇā || labhante paramaṃ jñānaṃ ye cānye śivayoginaḥ | etaddhi bālacaritaṃ tīrthaṃ cāpi suśobhanam || kāmadaṃ sarvajaṃtūnāṃ nātra kāryā vicāraṇā | tathāpi na tyajenmātā na bhrātā na ca sodarāḥ || aśrupūrṇaiśca nayanaiḥ dhāvamānāśca pṛṣṭhataḥ || śrīviśvarūpa uvāca - prasādastu tvayā kāryaḥ mama mūḍhasya sarvataḥ | tvaddarśanena pūto'haṃ ihaloke paratra ca || ālokaya tvaṃ māṃ vatsa ! patitaṃ śokasāgare | vivarṇavadanā mātā praskhalantī pade pade || trāyasva jananīṃ vatsa ! varṣayogena duḥkhitām | na mātṛsadṛśaṃ tīrthaṃ trailokye sacarācare || īśvara uvāca - vāryamāṇau samīpasthau mayā mātā pitā tathā | mohitau viṣṇumāyābhirnājānītāṃ maheśvaram || tatrasthānātsamāyātaḥ śrīmatkāyāvarohaṇam | aṣṭavarṣakalārūpī īśāno bhṛgumaṇḍale || p. 50) bhṛgoranugrahārthāya avatīrṇaḥ kṛte yuge | brahmarātryavasāne tu ādikalpe maheśvari ! || īśānaścottareśāne bhālākṣo devatāgaṇaiḥ | pṛṣṭhabhāge punardṛṣṭvā jananījanakādayaḥ || tato mayā dhṛtaḥ koṇaḥ bhṛkuṭīkuṭilānanam | tato me bhṛkuṭīṃ dṛṣṭvā sa ṛṣirdīnamānasaḥ || vicetanaḥ punarjātaḥ punarāśvāsito mayā | atraiva sthīyatāṃ brahman ! āvayoḥ saṃgakāraṇam || mayā tu daṇḍakāṣṭhena nadīnāmā tu jāhnavī | ānītā jāhnavī puṇyā puṇyatoyāvagāhitā || sarvatīrthamayī puṇyā devakhāteṣu durlabhā | dīrghā rekhā kṛtā yasmāt teneyaṃ dīrghikā smṛtā || durlabhā sarvalokeṣu amāyātrā viśeṣataḥ | dvāparasya yugasyādau meghanando maheśvaraḥ || yatra siddho mahāmegho yatra siddho maheśvari ! | āśrayaṃ dehi me deva ! dināni katicitpurā || yāsyāmi svagṛhasthānaṃ nātra kāryā vicāraṇā | tato madvacanaṃ śṛtvā vṛddhadevo'bravīdidam || mamaitatsaṃkaṭasthānaṃ kathaṃ tarhyāvayorbhavet | sa uvāca punardeva ! ātithyaṃ kriyatāṃ mama || ātithye ye guṇāḥ proktāste sarve tvayi saṃsthitāḥ | āśrayasya prasādena mahatpuṇyaphalaṃ labhet || gṛhasthasya paro dharmo hyāśrayaḥ pādaśaucanam | āsanaṃ cārghyadānaṃ ca tasmātkartavyamuttamam || iti prabodhito devi ! na dadyādāśrayaṃ mama | vṛddhadeva uvāca - brahmatīrtheṣu tiṣṭhasva brahmeśvarasya sannidhau | bhṛgukṣetraṃ pavitrakṛtaṃ bhaktānāṃ mokṣakāmyayā || p. 51) śrīmahādeva uvāca - vṛddhasya vacanaṃ śṛtvā lakulīśo varānane ! | brahmeśvaraṃ samāsādhya tasminneva layaṃ gataḥ || sthitaḥ sa bhagavān tatra kāyarūpī maheśvaraḥ | yena kāyāvatāro'sau tenedaṃ kāyarohaṇam || asidaṇḍadharo vāme dakṣiṇe bījapūrakam | brahmaliṅge mahādevi ! ahamapi layaṃ gataḥ || kāyāvarohaṇe puṇye
