triśikhibrāhmaṇopaniṣat niṣpratiyogikabrahmamātraparyavasannā tadupāyāṣṭāṅgayogaprapañcaprakāśinī vijṛmbhate | tasyāḥ svalpagranthato vivaraṇamārabhyate | triśikhibrāhmaṇādityapraśnaprativacanarūpeyamākhyāyikā vidyāstutyarthā | keyamākhyāyikā ityata āha- triśikhīti | nāmataḥ triśikhī, brahmaṇo'patyaṃ brāhmaṇaḥ, sanātano nāma muniḥ, ādityalokāsanam ādityaṃ vidhivat upasaṃgamya dehaprāṇādikaṃ tatkāraṇaṃ kiṃ, svayaṃ vā kīdṛśa iti papraccha || 1 || p. 117) sarvasya śivatvam sa hovāca sarvamidaṃ śiva eva vijānīha | kiṃ tu nityaḥ śuddho nirañjano vibhuradvayānandaḥ śiva ekaḥ svena bhāsedaṃ sarvaṃ sṛṣṭvā taptāyaḥpiṇḍavat aikyaṃ bhinnavat avabhāsate | tadbhāsakaṃ kimiti cet- ucyate | sacchabdavācyam avidyāśabalaṃ brahma || 2 || tatpraśnam vikalpajātaṃ kena vikalpitaṃ sadekatāṃ gataṃ, tadbhāsakaṃ kim ityāśaṅkāyāṃ ya ekaḥ śivaḥ sa svena tejasā sarvamidaṃ sṛṣṭvā tena taptāyaḥpiṇḍavat ekībhūya tadvailakṣaṇyenāpi bhāsata ityāha- sveneti | aikyaṃ prāpya svajñadṛṣṭyā bhinnavat avabhāsate | kiṃ tadityatra kiṃ deha ityādi triśikhipraśnaprativacane sarvamidaṃ śiva eveti yat pratijñātaṃ tatra svavikalpitakāryāpekṣayā svasya kāraṇatvaṃ tamastamaḥpradhānatriguṇopasarjanapañcīkṛtapañcamahābhūtebhyaḥ akhilaṃ jagat || 3 || ekasya piṇḍasya bahudhā vibhāgaḥ tadakhilaṃ kimiti | bhūtavikāravibhāgāditi | ekasmin piṇḍe kathaṃ bhūtavikāravibhāga iti | tatkāryakāraṇabhedarūpeṇa aṃśatattvavācakavācyasthānabhedaviṣayadevatākośabhedavibhāgā bhavanti || 4 || ekasya piṇḍātmano jagataḥ kathamakhilatvam ityatra pañcīkṛtapañcamahābhūtavikāravibhāgāditi | tatrāpyākṣipati- ekasminniti | tatprakāramāha- taditi | pṛthivyādeḥ ākāśakāryatvaṃ ākāśādeḥ pṛthivyādikāraṇatvamiti tattadbhūtakāryakāraṇabhedarūpeṇa pṛthivyādipañcabhūtavibhāgaḥ | ākāśādyaṃśaśrotrāditattvabhedena teṣāmabhidhānābhidheyabhedena tattadgolakasthānabhedena śabdādiviṣayabhedena degādidevatābhedena ānandamāyādikośabhedena ca bahudhā vibhāgā bhavanti | ekasmin avidyāṇḍapiṇḍe bhūtabhautikavikāravibhāgā upapadyanta ityarthaḥ || 4 || ākāśādīnāmaṃśabhedāḥ athākāśaḥ antaḥkaraṇamanobuddhicittāhaṃkārāḥ | vāyuḥ samānodānavyānapānaprāṇāḥ | vahniḥ śrotratvakcakṣurjihvāghrāṇāḥ | āpaḥ śabdasparśarūparasagandhāḥ | pṛthivī vākpāṇipādapāyūpasthāḥ || 5 || p. 119) evaṃ yat sūtritaṃ tadarthaṃ ākāśādikrameṇa viśadīkaroti- athetyādinā || ākāśāṃśā antarbhūtāḥ | manobuddhyościttāhaṃkārau cāntarbhūtau || 6 || aṃśabhedānuktvā viṣayabhedānāha- jñāneti || 6 || sūkṣmabhūtamātrāḥ avakāśavidhūtadarśanapiṇḍīkaraṇadhāraṇāḥ sūkṣmatamā jaivatanmātraviṣayāḥ || 7 || sūkṣmabhūtamātrā ucyante- avakāśeti || 7 || ādhyātmikādivibhāgaḥ evaṃ dvādaśāṅgāni ādhyātmikānyādhibhautikānyādhidaivikāni | atra niśākaracaturmukhadigvātārkavaruṇāśvyagnīndropendraprajāpatiyamā akṣādhidevatārūpairdvādaśanāḍyantaḥpravṛttāḥ prāṇā evāṅgāni aṅgajñānaṃ tadeva jñāteti || 8 || p. 120) aṃśādibhedena evam ityādi | atra ātmānaṃ dehaṃ bhūtajātaṃ devatājātaṃ ca adhikṛtya bhavantīti ādhyātmikāni ityādi | tatra ādhyātmikāni ādhibhautikāni uktāni | atra adhidaivikavivakṣayā karaṇādhipā ucyante- atreti | iḍādi dvādaśanāḍī samānayogena śrotradvārā śabdaguṇo vāgadhiṣṭhita ākāśe tiṣṭhati ākāśastiṣṭhati | mano vyānayogena tvagdvārā sparśaguṇaḥ pāṇyadhiṣṭhito vāyau tiṣṭhati vāyustiṣṭhati | buddhirudānayogena caturdvārā rūpaguṇaḥ pādādhiṣṭhito'gnau tiṣṭhatyagnistiṣṭhati | cittamapānayogena jihvādvārā rasaguṇa upasthādhiṣṭhito'psu tiṣṭhatyāpastiṣṭhanti | ahaṃkāraḥ prāṇayogena ghrāṇadvārā gandhaguṇo gudādhiṣṭhitaḥ pṛthivyāṃ tiṣṭhati pṛthivī tiṣṭhatītyevaṃ veda || 9 || evamādhyātmikāditāpatrayaṃ nirūpya atha pañcīkaraṇābhivyaktajñātṛvyāpṛtiṃ vyaktīkaroti- atheti | pañcīkaraṇamiti pañcīkaraṇaniṣpannaṃ jñātuḥ jñātṛtvamityarthaḥ | vyaṣṭisamaṣṭiprapañcāropādhikaraṇajīveśvarayoḥ vyāpṛtiṃ bhūtatatkāryānupraveśaṃ cāha- jñātṛtvamiti | jīveśāvavaṣṭabhya jñātṛtvam ityādi | ākāśastiṣṭhati ākāśādau ākāśādiḥ bhūtvā tiṣṭhatītyarthaḥ | evaṃ veda ya evaṃ pañcabhūtatatkāryāsaṅgāntaryāmiṇaṃ veda so'ntaryāmī bhavatīti śeṣaḥ || 9 || p. 121) mantrabhāgaḥ brahmaṇaḥ sakāśāt pañcīkaraṇāntā sṛṣṭiḥ atraite ślokā bhavanti- mantrā apyanuvadantītyāha- atreti | svājñavikalpitasvātiriktaṣoḍaśakalātatkāryajātāt svajñadṛṣṭyā pṛthagbhūte niṣkale brahmaṇi nirbīje sakalakalanānirvāhakasvājñadṛṣṭyā praśnopaniṣatparipaṭhitaprāṇādināmāntakalā bījarūpeṇa ādau vikalpitāḥ satyaḥ svāropādhikaraṇeśvarayogāt īśvaro bhūtvā | antaḥkaraṇaśabdena tatkāraṇam ākāśamucyate, vyānaśabdena vāyuḥ, akṣiśabdena agniḥ- akṣṇaḥ taijasatvāt rasaśabdena āpaḥ, pāyuśabdena pṛthivī, ityevaṃ nabhaḥkramāt ākāśādikramāt parān svārdhabhāgān pañcabhūtānāṃ mukhyān aṃśān kramāt tattadbhūte nikṣipya || 1 || pūrvottaraiḥ akāśādipṛthivyantaiḥ bhāgaiḥ tattadbhūtārdhāṃśānāṃ tattadbhūte nikṣiptatvāt śiṣṭārdhāṃśān catuṣcaturdhā vidhāya ākāśaḥ svāṃśetarārdhāṃśān vāyvādibhūtacatuṣṭaye nikṣipya, tathā vāyuḥ svāṃśetarārdhāṃśān ākāśāgnijalapṛthivīṣu p. 122) nikṣipetyādi samānam | evaṃ pañcīkṛte sati pūrvam ākāśamāśritya yoṃ'śo'sti so'yaṃ pañcīkaraṇānantaraṃ pṛthivyādiṣu saṃsthito bhavati || 2 || ūrdhve pūrvaṃ tattadbhūtamukhyāṃśā eva parāḥ śreṣṭhāḥ iti jñeyāḥ | pañcīkṛte'pi vaiśeṣyāttu tadvādastadvādaḥ iti vaiyāsikasūtrānurodhena tattadbhūtavyapadeśāt paratvaṃ yujyate | uttarān mukhyāṃśetarān aṃśān aparān gauṇān vuduḥ tadvida ityarthaḥ | yasmāt evaṃ pañcabhūtāṃśaḥ abhūt tasmāt tebhyaḥ mukhyāṃśebhyaḥ tathā gauṇāṃśaḥ abhūt | pañcabhūtāṃśā abhūt gauṇāṃśā abhūt iti pāṭhe abhūvannityarthe abhūditi vacanavyatyayaḥ || 3 || yasmāt evaṃ tasmāt anukramāt otaṃ protaṃ yathā bhavati tathā pañcabhūteṣu mukhyāṃśojjvaleṣu gauṇāṃśāḥ anyonyamāśritya vartantaḥ ityarthaḥ || carācarātmakaviśvasṛṣṭiḥ pañcabhūtamayā bhūmiḥ sā cetanasamanvitā || 4 || tata oṣadhayo'nnaṃ ca tataḥ piṇḍāścaturvidhāḥ | rasāsṛṅmāṃsamedo'sthimajjāśuklāni dhātavaḥ || 5 || kecit tadyogataḥ piṇḍā bhūtebhyaḥ saṃbhavāḥ kvacit | tasminnannamayaḥ piṇḍo nābhimaṇḍalasaṃsthitaḥ || 6 || asya madhye'sti hṛdayaṃ sanālaṃ padmakośavat | sattvāntarvartino devāḥ kartrahaṃkāracetanāḥ || 7 || asya bīja tamaḥpiṇḍaṃ moharūpaṃ jaḍaṃ ghanam | vartate kaṇṭhamāśritya miśrībhūtamidaṃ jagat || 8 || pratyāgānandarūpātmā mūrdhni sthāne paraṃpade | anantaśaktisaṃyukto jagadrūpeṇa bhāsate || 9 || p. 123) evaṃ pañcīkṛtabhūtataḥ cetanayuktāt jāyate ityatra carācarātmakaṃ viśvaṃ jāyate ityāha- pañceti || 4 || cetanādhiṣṭhitāt tataḥ, caitanyādhiṣṭhitānnāt, jarāyujādibhedena caturvidhāḥ piṇḍāḥ saṃjātāḥ ityarthaḥ | dhātavo'pyannādeva jāyanta ityāha- raseti || 5 || kecideva vadantītyāha- keciditi | tadyogataḥ śuklaśoṇitayogataḥ piṇḍāḥ bhuktānnapuruṣabhūtebhyaḥ saṃjātaśuklaśoṇitasaṃbhavāḥ piṇḍāḥ iti kecidāhuḥ | sarvathā annamayā ityarthaḥ | annasāraḥ piṇḍaḥ kva āsanamarhati ityata āha- tasminniti | tasmin bhūtakadambe, tasya sarvaprāṇijīvananimittatvāt || 6 || tanmadhye kiṃ vartate ityata āha- asyeti | annamayasya | tadāśritya ke vartante ityata āha- sattveti | sattvāntarvartinaḥ sattvaguṇapradhānāḥ indrādayo brahmādayaśca devāḥ vartante | yadvā- kartrahaṃkāracetanāḥ antaḥkaraṇaviśiṣṭāḥ devāḥ indriyāṇi vidyante ityarthaḥ || 7 || hṛdayabījaṃ kim ityata āha- asyeti | ghanaṃ svājñānamityarthaḥ | tat kutra vartate ityata āha- vartate iti | svājñānaṃ manaḥsthānaṃ galāntam iti śrutyanurodhena kaṇṭhaṃ kaṇṭhāsanaṃ manaḥ sāśritya vartate | tena svājñānakabalitamanasā idaṃ jagat miśrībhūtaṃ vyāptaṃ bhavati || 8 || jagataḥ svājñānamiśritatve jagadrūpeṇa bhānaṃ kim ityata āha- pratyagiti | jagataḥ svajñānavyāptatve'pi turīyaṃ mūrdhni saṃsthitam iti śrutyā svājñānāspṛṣṭamūrdhni sthāne paraṃpade pratyagānandarūpātmā sthirāsano bhūtvā īśvarātmanā anantaśaktiyuktaḥ san jagadrūpeṇa bhāsate | yataḥ evam ataḥ jagadrūpeṇāpi bhānaṃ pratyagātmaniṣṭhaṃ na svājñānatatkāryajaganniṣṭhamityarthaḥ || 9 || avasthācatuṣṭayam sarvatra vartate jāgrat svapnaṃ jāgrati vartate | suṣuptaṃ ca turīyaṃ ca nānyāvasthāsu kutracit || 10 || p. 124) prāṇādikośavat jāgrati svapnāditrayaṃ vartate, nānyāvasthāsvityarthaḥ || 10 || jāgradavasthāyāḥ svapnādyādhāratvaṃ svāropādhāreśvaraniṣṭhamityāha- sarveti | viśvavirāḍotrādidvituryāvikalpāntarūpeṇa vyaṣṭisamaṣṭyātmakajāgradādisarvadeśeṣvanusyūtaḥ pratyagātmā sadā vartata ityarthaḥ | kathaṃ punaḥ pratīcaḥ sarvānusyūtatvam ityatra vikāravat kośajīvadṛṣṭāntena sarvānusyūtatvaṃ sādhayati- yatheti | yathā annamayakośaḥ sarvakośādhāro vyāpakaśca bhavati tathā jīvaḥ yathā kṛtsnakośavikāraṃ ātmātmīyābhimānapūrvakaṃ vyāpya vartate tathā tadvikārāspṛṣṭaḥ san śivo'pi vartate | jīvaśivayoḥ savikāranirvikāratvaṃ kośābhimānabhāvābhāvaniṣṭham || 11-13 || ya(ka?)smāt avasthātrayataddhetupañcakośādivikalpaḥ saṃjāta ityatra- mathanasaṃjātarasāśayaphenavat evaṃ manonirmathanāt jāgradādi vidyate iti | saṃkalpāt evamādibahavo vikalpāḥ jāyante, manaḥsaṃkalpābhāve kimapi nāstītyarthaḥ || 14 || p. 125) dakṣiṇottarāyaṇagatiḥ karmaṇā vartate karmī tattyāgāchāntimāpnuyāt | anaye dakṣiṇe saṃkalpasaṃjātanānāvidhakarmaṇā karmī jīvo manaḥkalpitasaṃsārapāśena niruchvāsaṃ baddhaḥ san vartate | yāvat svajñānena svabhāvāpattiḥ tāvat saṃsarati | yadāyaṃ svajñānena svajñānatatkāryaṃ tyajati tadā svātiriktavibhramaśāntimāpnuyāt | śivasya jīvatvaṃ jīvasya śivatvaṃ kathaṃ bhavatītyāśaṅkya anātmani ātmābhimānāt śivasya jīvatvaṃ tadabhimatityāgāt jīvasya śivatvaṃ ca syādityāha- ayana iti | jñānagandhavikalakāmasaṃkalpādighaṭiteṣṭāpūrtādikarmaṇā ayane dakṣiṇe prāpte || 15-17 || kadā jīvaḥ śivo bhavati? svabhāvāptau kiṃ sādhanam ? ityata āha- tata iti | tato niṣkāmabuddhyā anuṣṭhitasatkarmaphalasamarpaṇeśvaraprasādāt uttarābhimukho bhūtvā te'rciṣamabhisaṃbhavanti ityādisthānāt sthānāntaraṃ prāpya śabalabrahmapadaṃ kramāt prāpnotītyarthaḥ || 18 || kiṃ kurvan uttarābhimukho bhavati ityata āha- p. 126) mūrdhnīti | siddhādyāsanastho yogī svātmanaḥ prāṇān suṣumnādvāreṇa mūrdhni ādhāya sadā eva yogābhyāsaṃ caran yathoktakāle mūrdhānaṃ bhittvā devayānena pathā brahmalokametya na punarāvartata ityarthaḥ || sadyomuktiprāpakaṃ jñānam yogāt saṃjāyate jñānaṃ jñānādyogaḥ pravartate || 19 || yogajñānaparo nityaṃ sa yogī na praṇaśyati | vikārasthaṃ śivaṃ paśyedvikāraśca śive na tu || 20 || yogaprakāśakaṃ yogairdhyāyeccānanyabhāvanaḥ | kevalakarmānuṣṭhānaphalaṃ cāndrapadaṃ, karmajñānasamuccayānuṣṭhānaphalaṃ tu brahmalokāvāptiḥ ityuktvā sadyaḥkaivalyaprāpakanirviśeṣajñānaṃ sopāyamāha- yogāditi | svāśramācārasakṛtanityādisādhanacatuṣṭayavadanuṣṭhitasarvavedānta## -##śravaṇayogāt nirviśeṣajñānaṃ saṃjāyate | yathoktamananābhivardhitajñānāt yogo nididhyāso brahmātiriktaṃ na kiṃcidastīti samyagjñānaṃ pravartate prādurbhavati || 19 || nityamevaṃ yogajñānaparo yogī tvājñavat svātiriktāstitvadhiyā na kadāpi praṇaśyati samyagjñānasamakālaṃ sarvāpahnavasiddhaniṣpratiyogikabrahmamātrabhāvāpanno bhavatītyarthaḥ | samyagjñānopāyastu- sarvaṃ khalvidaṃ brahma iti śrutyanurodhena
